Now more than ever, work is becoming more mobile. With wi-fi access becoming more prevalent, and people using their smartphones to check emails/conduct business, people are finding it easier to get work done "on the run". What is happening to the desk? How important is your workspace to your productivity? This movie by the folks at Imaginary Forces tackles this issue. Its an interesting take on how we as a culture are evolving and how important the desk is to our lives.

Baltimore Running Festival

So this year, I decided to participate in the Baltimore Running Festival's Team Relay Marathon. Each person had 6-7 miles to run through the streets of downtown Baltimore. It was alot of fun, very cold in the morning, but lots of fun. Great comraderie with other runners. There were approximately 22,000 people entered into this event and by the looks of it, there could've been more. All types of people came out to run, from beginners to advanced runners - some were even running this race for their 10th time. I posted a respectable 1hr 05min for 6.1 miles..through some serious hilly streets I might add! (from the Harbor, through Fells Point, up towards Hopkins, and finally finishing at Clifton Park.)

Design is just another form of communication

Design conveys a message. It's another form of language that isn't spoken, but rather inferred. Whether you're trying to convince somebody to buy your book, or just presenting facts and figures to your clients on a chart, the design conveys your overall message. Personally, I'm especially fond of the clean, minimalistic designs that present a simple, direct, and focused message. It is worth noting again, that design is just another form of communication. Don't forget about the message it conveys!
