The lengths that some places will go to advertise. I like the elevator dressed up as a lighthouse. Pretty creative...Makes me want to visit South Carolina. They also had a kiosk to learn more as well an interactive screen.

Too bad their website leaves little to be desired. They could've spent the effort on refreshing the website to be more attractive and highlight the reasons to discover South Carolina - adding more pictures, events, flash content, etc...

Steve Jobs & Eric Schmidt discuss plans to take over the world.

This is great. A picture taken of Apple and Google's head honchos enjoying a cup of coffee.  One could only wonder if these two giants have bigger plans in store for all of us. Maybe they're just talking about their NCAA Men's Basketball bracket. Who knows? Either way, I'm big fans of these two great forward-thinking men.

Sitting in traffic and I get this great idea.

Beltway-traffic

So on my commute home from work, I'm sitting in traffic wondering why I didn't check the traffic reports and maps before I left. I'm usually in a hurry to get out of work and don't have too much time to lookup all the information I need. Then I get this great idea sitting behind this rather old man driving his jet black BMW - create a site that will show me if my route home has a lot of traffic and text message me the info at a certain time. Yeah, I don't have navigation or XM or anything like that on my car,  I just have my phone. Pretty simple. It should be able to be customizable and tailored to each individual who logs in. Probably use the Google Maps API, along with some web-service calls from other sites. Who knows if this will even work? Well in any case, I've already bought the domain Beltwaytraffic.net so we'll see how this goes.
